Skidmore will hold a town hall meeting at 5:30 pm, Tuesday, December 10 at Newton Hall. Proposition U will be discussed for placement on the Tuesday, April 5, 2025 ballot. The proposition is a use tax on the purchase of goods by Missouri residents from out-of-state vendors.

SFF’s Giving Tuesday supports cancer care needs

On December 3, the St. Francis Foundation (SFF) hosted its annual Giving Tuesday Souper Bonanza event at A&G Restaurant in Maryville. For every Souper Bonanza purchased this year, one-dollar was donated by the 27 sponsors to the St. Francis Foundation Cancer Care Patient Assistance Fund. Together, nearly $10,000 was raised for local cancer care patients.

Jefferson hosts veterans for Thanksgiving

On November 20, Jefferson National Honor Society helped the school observe a combination Veterans Day and Thanksgiving for area veterans. After the Thanksgiving lunch, grades three to eighth sang songs and high school students made speaking presentations.

Marvin Wiley, 83, Maryville, died Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at the Maryville Living Center. He was born January 14, 1941, in Fairfax, to Ora and Zeta Short Wiley.
