New monument honors Irish pioneers in the Tri-C area

Nodaway County’s early pioneers were the settlers of The Reading Colony at Conception in 1858. The Reading Colony, originating in Pennsylvania, came to Conception via St. Joseph. American Legion Post 100 and Scout Troops 190 and 74 will serve breakfast from 8 am to noon, Sunday, October 10 at the post located at 1104 East Fifth Street.
