Depot Museum hosts open house in Skidmore
The Skidmore Depot Museum will host an open house between 2 to 5 pm, Sunday, September 25. This is an opportunity to “take a look back through Skidmore history.” Refreshments will be served.
NEN holds suicide prevention walk
Northeast Nodaway is teaming up with Mosaic Medical Center to host a suicide prevention walk after the JV softball game vs. Platte Valley, Thursday, September 22. The “Be the Light” walk in honor of National Suicide Prevention Month will have fans and players walking a lap with flashlights provided by Mosaic.
UMC hosts fish, chicken fry
A fish and chicken fry will be held 11 am to 1:30 pm, Sunday, September 18 at the United Methodist Church, 415 South Main Street, Parnell. AL holds pancake breakfast
American Legion Post 464 will hold a pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 am, Sunday, September 18. The menu is pancakes, sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, juice and coffee. Cost is $8 donation minimum per person. Children six and under are free. Proceeds will go to the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 464. Information
‘Music off Main’ comes to Pocket Park

Skidmore doesn’t have a brush pile for residents to use. The old location at the south edge of town is on private property. Brush isn’t to be dumped there. A new location is being worked on.
Fresh Mobile Pantry comes to Barnard
The Second Harvest Community Food Bank Fresh Mobile Pantry will begin at 10 am, Tuesday, September 13 on Fourth Street in Barnard. The mobile food pantry will continue while supplies last and is open to the public.
