The South Nodaway R-IV Board of Education met on July 17 to handle the following school district business. Superintendent Johnnie Silkett reviewed the interest earned on the district’s five year CD which comes due in December. He wants the board to look at investment opportunities for the money. Governor Mike Parson announced on July 29 the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has agreed to the state’s request to provide federal assistance to local governments and nonprofits in 68 counties including Nodaway County recovering from flooding and severe storms which occurred between April 29 and July 5.
