Fish Fry set for Elmo

The Elmo Fish Fry will be held from 5 to 7 pm, Saturday, March 9 at the Elmo Community Building. In addition to fish, there will be fried chicken, potatoes, salads and drink. The Wilcox United Methodist Church is holding the Annual Fish and Chicken Fry from 4:30 to 7 pm, Saturday, March 9 at the church. The free will donation meal includes all-you-can eat fish and chicken strips, French fries, salads and drink.

BJ Legion to sponsor supper

A fundraising ham dinner will be held from 5 to 7 pm, Friday, March 8 at the American Legion in Burlington Jct. The menu will include ham and scalloped potatoes, vegetables, homemade rolls, desserts and a drink. Adults are $8; children five and under are free. The dinner is sponsored by the BJ American Legion

The Jefferson board of education met February 25 to handle the school district’s business: • Approved the consent agenda after adding Kenzie Edwards as track coach. • Authorized the purchase of accounting software from Software Unlimited to be done in August or November at a cost of $7,200 setup and an annual fee of $4,570.

The North Nodaway R-VI Board of Education met in open and closed sessions on February 19 to handle the following school district business: Superintendent James Simmelink informed the board the school will be in session until Tuesday, May 28.
