St. Gregory Barbarigo School declares Sue Seipel day

May 6 was declared Sue Seipel Day at St. Gregory Barbarigo School. The entire school spilled out onto the school’s front lawn to honor Seipel on her retirement after teaching first grade at St. Gregory for 37 years. She has had almost 700 students during those years.

Hounds take boys MEC championship

The Maryville Spoofhounds hosted the 2022 MEC track championships May 3. The boys team earned the championship with 209 points while the girls team finished fourth with 117 points.

NEN hires Beatty as PK-12 principal

The Northeast Nodaway R-V School District has hired Heidi Beatty as principal for the 2022-23 school year. Beatty has been the assistant principal for the last year, and prior to that, she taught third grade for nine years. She replaces Jason McDowell who is leaving to serve as principal at Minnie Cline Elementary in Savannah.
