Maryville Maryville R-II met July 19 to conduct business and accept bids. The Maryville school board awarded J’s Concrete Construction, Maryville, the concrete bid not to exceed $20,000 for the building trades house. Assistant Superintendent Steve Klotz gave building project updates. The performing arts center interior is half painted. Seats were installed July 20. The
Jefferson Jefferson C-123 met July 18 to assess storm damage and handle school business. During a recent storm, the district’s school gym chimney cap poked a hole in the roof above the stage. West Nodaway The West Nodaway R-I Board of Education met in open and closed sessions on July 13: In professional development, Roberts Rules of Order were reviewed. The board decided to add the Pledge of Allegiance to the meetings. The board approved the following: • 2015-16 budget and the 2016-17 budget. • Participation as members
The school board voted to raise the prices of school lunches 5¢ for the 2016-2017 school year, in a six to one vote with Jeff Farnan voting no. The new lunch prices will be $2 for elementary, $2.10 for high school and $2.70 for adults. Currently, the school has more food service expenditures than revenue.
