County teachers gather for professional development
Teachers from six county schools met September 19 at Northwest Missouri State University to learn new ideas and strategies from one another during a professional development workshop.

Nodaway-Holt installs new security system
Visitors to Nodaway-Holt’s school district will have to be buzzed inside this year. The district installed a video entry system in August. The security program, installed in both school buildings, keeps the outside doors locked at all times. Visitors push a button alerting the secretary to their presence. The Northeast Nodaway Board of Education met on August 18 to set the tax levy and conduct the following business: •Northeast Nodaway’s assessed value increased by $175,250. Maryville R-II school board met August 17 to conduct the following business: •The district’s assessed evaluation dropped 1.4 percent. St. Gregory’s hosts second school nutrition program training
St. Gregory’s hosted its second annual school nutrition program employee training at the school. Under current state regulations, all food service personnel must have six hours of continuing education every year. Thirty-four people from 12 schools attended the seminar. Buses gear up for school
North Nodaway personnel surveyed the bus fleet and revved up maintenance before school starts. Drivers brought the buses to Parson’s Tire, Maryville, to be inspected before beginning their bus routes on August 18. Northeast Nodaway marches through camp
Twenty-three Northeast Nodaway seventh- to twelfth-grade students attended band camp August 8-13. They will host a practice performance at noon, Saturday, August 13 at the school. Lunch and games will follow.
