Christmas parade lights up Main Street

Despite the cold temperatures, spectators and entries lit up Main Street during the Maryville Chamber of Commerce Christmas parade on December 7. The parade stretched from Second Street to Winter Wonderland at Franklin Park. The Grinch Grand Marshall was Nick Sowards, Boy Scouts Troop 75 scoutmaster. Troop 75 was awarded the $702.15 which was collected.

Graves announces City of Maryville to receive $10.4 million BUILD grant

Congressman Sam Graves, incoming Ranking Member for the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, announced December 6 that the City of Maryville has received a Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) Transportation Discretionary Grant or BUILD grant. The City of Maryville will receive a $10.4 million BUILD grant for its South Main Corridor Improvement Project.

Pickering picks new alderman

The Pickering City Council confirmed the appointment of Juliana Judd as an alderman at the December 3 meeting. Juliana is stepping in to fill Brad Judd’s position on the city council.
