The St. Joe Mustangs invite baseball enthusiasts to head out to Phil Welch Stadium with the family July 4th for baseball and a lively performance by some of your favorite brass players. A pregame traditional jazz and patriotic performance at 6:25 pm will be provided by the St. Joseph Symphony Brass ensemble of Steve Molloy
The American Legion Post #528 will hold a freewill donation breakfast from 8 am to noon, Sunday, July 2 at the AL Post in Parnell. The menu includes pancakes, biscuits and gravy, eggs made to order, bacon, sausage, coffee and orange juice.
The annual summer camp hosted by Maryville Parks and Recreation for children ages five through 12 will begin Monday, July 3. Activities for the campers through August 11 will include a pool day, parks and field trips, movies at the theater, speakers, all wrapped around fun-themed weeks. The cost is $150 per camper per week
The Maryville Chapter of the Missouri Writers Guild will meet from 7 to 8:30 pm, Thursday, June 29 in room 303, First United Methodist Church, 102 North Main. All who are interested in writing are invited to attend.
The Ministry Center will be open from 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday, June 27 for grocery distribution for those who work during the day.
The Nodaway County Historical Society will hold its annual meeting and recognition night at 5 pm, Monday, June 26 at the museum, 110 North Walnut, Maryville. Hot Dogs for Hot Dogs will be from 4:30 to 6 pm, Monday, June 26 in the side yard of the First United Methodist Church, 102 North Main Street, Maryville. A come-and-go event for dogs and their owners. Hot dog sandwiches available. Dog dress-up optional. Donations will be shared between the New Nodaway Humane Society
The Skidmore Food Pantry will be from 4 to 6 pm, Monday, June 26 at Newton Hall. Line up coming down the street to pick up. It is for residents of the Nodaway-Holt school district.
The Barnard Community Historical Society Museum will be open from 1 to 4 pm, the last Sunday of the month on June 25. The museum is open by appointment. For information, call Mike Walker at 816.262.4814 or any board member.
The Ravenwood Community Breakfast will be held from 8 to noon, Sunday, June 25 at the Ravenwood Community Center. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. The menu is eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, biscuits and gravy and pancakes. The Northeast Nodaway senior class will help.
