Post 464 to host pancake breakfast
American Legion Post 464 will sponsor a pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 am, Sunday, September 17, at the legion post, Conception Jct. AL serves chicken dinner in Maitland
The Maitland-Graham American Legion Post 256 will serve a fried chicken dinner from 4:30 to 7:30 pm, Saturday, September 16 at the Maitland Legion building, 201 North Second Street. Menu is fried chicken, potatoes, salads, desserts and drink. Cost is $10 for adults; $3 for children five and under.

The Maryville Farmers Market starts winding down season. The market is from 7:30 am to noon or when vendors sell out, Saturdays, September 16, 23, and 30, in the parking lot at Fourth and Buchanan Streets, Maryville.
VA Rep to talk to disabled vets
Veterans Administration Representative Patrick Godfrey will be available to talk to disabled veterans from 10 am to 5 pm, Tuesday, September 12 at the Nodaway County Courthouse, Maryville. Godfrey will be in a VA van and will speak to any veteran with questions.
Nodaway Chorale starts rehearsals
The Nodaway Chorale will begin fall rehearsals at 7 pm, Monday, September 11 at the First Presbyterian Church, 211 South Main Street, Maryville. MFD honors 9/11 sacrifices
The Maryville Fire Department will hold a 9/11 memorial service at 8:35 am, Monday, September 11 in honor of those who lost their lives at the Manhattan, NY, twin towers as well as those who sacrificed their lives serving in the armed forces in the war against terror.
