The Burlington Jct. City Council met on December 13 to discuss city business.

The minutes from the November meeting were approved by the council. Tarah and Mark Hailey were in attendance and had questions about wanting to obtain the quit claim deed from the city for the property next to their home. The council voted in favor of starting the process.

City Manager Jo Anna Marriott gave the financial report to the council. All the bank accounts are reconciled and the city year to date income is up by $14,004.87. Marriott stated that she is working on the year-end audit with Clevenger and Associates, Parkville.

Foreman Hunter Simmons gave his report as well. There was a service line break on Oak Street that Jason Mercer will be helping with. The city is also looking into the DNR Abandoned Well Plugging Grants and will update the council once the staff knows more. The water plant also had internet installed to help the water plant run more on an automatic status.

The council discussed the monthly water bill shut-offs and approved sending out the past due letters.
