All Stars Majors win district, Advance to state at DeSoto

The 2017 Northwest All Stars Majors team won the district tournament last week and is headed to the state tournament this week. The district tournament was July 8-13 in Eagleville. Health board to move forward on projects

The Nodaway County Health Center board of directors voted to move forward on two projects that have been under consideration. On the LAGERS retirement program, a motion was approved to move forward with the actuarial valuation or cost study. The second project is making the center’s lobby area ADA handicapped accessible to the second floor.

Bluejays learn to elbow their way through softball camp

Northwest Missouri State University Head Softball Coach Ryan Anderson and Head Strength and Conditioning Coach Joe Quinlin worked with Northeast Nodaway students, giving them tips and feedback during their softball camp. Anderson instructed the girls to keep their elbows up, especially the back elbow, when throwing or catching and then let the arm snap forward.
