MU Extension hosts healthy food drive

The Nodaway County MU Extension office is hosting a healthy food drive to support a local community food pantry which is currently opening.

Nonperishable food can be dropped outside the door at the extension office located at 403 North Market, Room 308, Maryville, from 8 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday until Wednesday, October 9.

Needed items are dry egg noodles, 100 percent whole wheat spaghetti noodles, canned tuna in water, canned chicken in water, sugar for baking, flour for baking, jelly, peanut butter, no or low sodium canned vegetable, low sodium canned soup, canned fruit in not syrup but 100 percent juice, 100 percent fruit juice, unsweetened cereal, oatmeal, soap bar or liquid body wash and laundry detergent.
