The per capita production of women collegiate bowlers by hometown is a good example of a regional sport. In this case, it’s the northeast which dominates. There are 83 NCAA bowling programs and 706 bowlers.
The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks won their second National Championship defeating Vanderbilt on April 13 in Wickliffe, OH. The NCAA began sponsoring women’s bowling in 2004.
