Sherilyn Lance, Barnard, donated a DVD and toy to the Today’s Civic Women’s Toys for Tots of Nodaway County campaign, October 29 at the Nodaway News Leader. She also renewed her subscription and received a $5 discount for her donations. The NNL is offering the subscription discount with toy donation through Tuesday, December 1.

MHS crowns Homecoming royalty

Homecoming was finally celebrated at Maryville High School before the October 30 football game when all the royalty candidates were announced. The king and queen were seniors Henry Swink and Olivia Stiff. Henry is the son of Brian and Jennifer Swink. Olivia is the daughter of Tim and Tina Stiff.

Post season volleyball honors announced

The 275 Conference Volleyball All-Conference team saw Shaina Culp and Krista Hart, both seniors of Nodaway Holt, being named. Culp received a unanimous selection. Saylor Brown, a junior from North Nodaway and Riley Linville, also a junior from West Nodaway, were named on the honorable mention team.

Spoofhounds win State Championship The Maryville High School girls volleyball team won the Class 3 State Volleyball Championship Friday, November 6 at the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau beating Park Hills  25-20, 25-21, 25-22. Spoofhounds are among 10,446 players in the state of Missouri.  North Central states lead in per capita girls volleyball participation.
