Veterans Yoga Project comes to Maryville

The Veterans Yoga Project will be presented from October 18 to 20 at the Mozingo Lake Recreation Park. The event, slated for 5 to 8:30 pm, Friday, 10 am to 5 pm, Saturday, and 10 am to 5 pm, Sunday, will be held in the multipurpose building in the youth camp area at the park.

BJ AL holds Spaghetti Supper

The Burlington Jct. American Legion Auxiliary will hold a spaghetti supper from 5 to 7 pm, Friday, October 11 at the American Legion Building in Burlington Jct. The supper will feature spaghetti, lettuce salad, garlic bread, drink and dessert. Cost is $8 for adults; children 10 and under are free.

DAR announces meeting

The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) will meet at 10 am, Saturday, October 12 at the Nodaway County Historical Society Museum, 110 North Walnut Street, Maryville. The group will tour the Caleb Burns house and the old schoolhouse. Members are asked to bring a guest.

Fish Fry to be held in Elmo

The Elmo Fish Fry is from 5 to 7 pm, Saturday, October 12 at the Elmo Community Building. Besides fish, there will be fried chicken, potatoes, salads and drink. Cost is $9; children 12 and under are $5. Proceeds go toward community service projects.  The fundraiser is sponsored by the Elmo Community Betterment.

Post 464 to host pancake breakfast

American Legion Post 464 will sponsor a pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 am, Sunday, October 13 at the legion post, Conception Jct. Pancakes, sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, juice and coffee will be served. Cost is a $7 minimum donation per person; children six and under are free. Proceeds will benefit various veterans programs.

A caregiver support group will meet at 6 pm, Wednesday, October 16 at Oak Pointe of Maryville, 817 South Country Club Road, Maryville.
