An all-you-can-eat fish and chicken fry will be from 5 to 7 pm, Saturday, September 10 at the American Legion Post 100, 1104 East Fifth Street, Maryville. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 11 and under. All proceeds support veteran programs.

Commissioners set 2016 tax rate

The Nodaway County commissioners set the property tax for the coming year during a public hearing on August 31. Jeanine Montgomery, Maryville, is training a puppy for Leader Dogs for the Blind. Leader Dogs for the Blind, Rochester Hills, MI, raises and trains dogs for blind and visually impaired individuals.
