The Northwest Missouri Beebusters will once again start monthly meetings, with the first beginning at 7 pm, Monday, October 11 at the Laura Street Baptist Church, 120 South Laura, Maryville. Anyone who is interested in bees is welcome to attend.
American Legion Post 100 and Scout Troops 190 and 74 will serve breakfast from 8 am to noon, Sunday, October 10 at the post located at 1104 East Fifth Street. The menu will be biscuits and gravy, pancakes, eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, orange juice, coffee and milk. Adults are $8, children six and under are $5.
American Legion Post 464 is hosting a pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 am, Sunday, October 10 at the post in Conception Jct. The menu is pancakes, sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, juice and coffee. The Elmo Fish Fry will be held from 5 to 7 pm, Saturday, October 9 at the Community Building. Fried fish, chicken, potatoes, salads and drink will cost $9 for adults; children 12 and under are $5. Indoor seating or carryout is available, social distancing is recommended. Money raised goes to community service projects.
The Burlington Jct. United Methodist Church will host a Lord’s Acre bake and craft sale, from 9 am to 12:30 pm, Saturday, October 9 at the church. There will be baked goods, canned goods, candy, jelly’s, crafts and more.
The third semi-annual Turkey Run Flea Market and Swap Meet will be noon, to 6 pm, Friday, October 8; 8 am to 6 pm, Saturday, October 9; and 9 am to 3 pm, Sunday, October 10 at 33982 State Highway NN, Hopkins.
A ham dinner will be held from 5 to 7 pm, Friday, October 8 at the American Legion Building, Burlington Jct. Cost is $10 for adults; children age five and under are free. Ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans, desserts and a drink will be served. It is sponsored by the BJ AL Auxiliary.
The Nodaway County Federated Republican Women and Men will meet at 11:30 am, Thursday, October 7 at Pizza Ranch, 215 Che Avenue, Maryville. The guest speaker will be Jackie Cochenour who will speak on the fight to stop human trafficking of which she is an advocate. Everyone is invited to the meetings.
The Source Medical Clinic will host its ninth annual fundraising event, The Blessed Life, at 7 pm, Thursday, October 7 at the Mozingo Conference Center. Nationally known Kirk Walden will speak.
