Pickering experiences KCP&L problems

At the Pickering City Council meeting July 2, City Clerk Milt Sovereign discussed his issues with KCP&L billing. Unknown to him, when KCP&L put in the LED street lights earlier this year, the company set up a fifth account for the city. Sovereign pays the city bills online and the fifth account was not linked.

Construction gets underway on newest Habitat house

Habitat for Humanity of Nodaway County has begun construction on the organization’s 10th house. The house, located at 416 South Vine, Maryville, will be three bedrooms and provide a home for Chandra White and her two children, who will be moving from a two-bedroom apartment.

Pilot relates tales at Hawk Road Flyers

Keith Mowry, ATP, CFII, will relate “Extraordinary Tales from an Extraordinary Pilot” at 6:30 pm, Thursday, July 12 at the Hawk Road Flyers EAA Chapter 1540 meeting at Northwest Missouri Regional Airport, two miles west of Maryville on Highway 46. Mowry has flown all manner of aircraft including U-1A Army Otters to B200 King Airs.
