The North Nodaway R-VI Board of Education met in open and closed session on January 18.

The board approved the 2017 board election ballot for the April 4 election, the agenda and consent agenda.

No motions were approved in closed session except for the approval of the December closed meeting minutes.

Superintendent James Simmelink is researching handrails for the gym bleachers. Banners have been installed in the gym.

A report on transportation costs was presented. The seven district buses average 7.64 mpg and have driven 32,827 miles as of January 10 for the 2016-17 school year. Total cost to the school district is $26,076.81. In comparison, the total for the 2015-16 school year was $43,152.08.
