Nodaway-Holt R-VII met September 21 to hire personnel and award the following contracts:

•The school board voted to change security companies. When the contract with Central Security Group expires in December, the alarm system security services will be provided by Midwest Digital, Lawson. Upgrades to the alarm system are $1,898.

•Roderick Signs, St. Joseph, was awarded the bid of $24,585 for a new digital school sign on A Highway.

•The school purchased a new van from Laukemper Motors, Mound City, for $22,181.

•Terry Petersen’s resignation as a paraprofessional was accepted.

High School Principal Ethan Sickels reported:

•Every junior took the ACT exam last year. The results have come back and students scored well.

•South Holt students came to Nodaway-Holt on September 23 to build Homecoming parade floats.

Elementary Principal Rita Carroll reported:

•Students scored well on assessments due to the new math series.

•Lockers have been painted and landscaping is complete.

•Team time has been implemented. This is a time when children from various grades work together completing team building activities.
