The Maryville Spoofhounds fell to the Monett Cubs, 18-27, in the Class 3 Missouri State Championship football game November 26 at Plaster Stadium in Springfield. Mallory McConkey, South Nodaway High School senior, signed her National Letter of Intent on November 9 to play basketball at Northwest Missouri State University. Surrounded by her family, Matthew, William, Marissa and Benjamin Curran, dad, Warren McConkey, Mallory, mother, Julie and sister Meaghan, Mallory made it official that she will be attending Northwest.

The Northwest Missouri State University Bearcat football team is the MIAA regular season champion after its win on November 12. The final score was 44-3 against the MoWest Griffins. Quarterback Kyle Zimmerman scrambles to the sideline as he puts additional yards on the board. Zimmerman was 18 of 30 for 246 yards and two touchdowns.
On November 4, West Nodaway students supported Weston Carter and his coach, Colton Blay, as they ran a lap around the school during a pep rally sending them to state. Carter placed 121st at state in cross country. “I am very excited. It has been my goal since I was a freshman to make state,”
In a battle of defenses, the Hounds pulled out a win over the Richmond Spartans on November 4. The last game the Hounds lost at home was to the Spartans in 2010. The Spartans’ last defeat was to Maryville in 2015.
