The American Legion Department of Missouri, Fourth District meeting will be at 1:30 pm, Sunday, March 9 at the James Edward Gray American Legion Post 100, 1104 East Fifth Street, Maryville. The Four Chaplains Ceremony will be performed and a meal will be served.
The 27th Annual Pancake, Sausage, Biscuits and Gravy Day will be from 10 am to 2 pm, Sunday, March 9 at the Graham Community Building. The Maryville Spoofhound Boys Basketball Team met rival Savannah March 3 at Maryville High School, and came away with a 42-37 victory in the first round of the Class 4 District 16 tournament.
The Betterment Foundation of Barnard and Guilford is hosting a family Movie Night at 6:30 pm, Saturday, March 8 at the South Nodaway High School gym in Barnard.
The Elmo Fish and Chicken Fry will be from 5 to 7 pm, Saturday, March 8 at the new Elmo Community Building in the Elmo Park. Costs are $13 for ages 12 and up; $6 for ages 11 and under. Menu features fried Pollack, fried chicken, potato wedges, mac and cheese and salads.
The Nodaway County Historical Society Museum will host its March Second Saturday Coffee from 9 to 11 am, Saturday, March 8 at the museum at 110 North Walnut Street, Maryville. There will be tours, coffee and refreshments.
The Nodaway Valley Thunder Girls Basketball Team saw their magical season end March 4 in Dearborn, losing 50-58 to North Platte. The senior group of Ava Graham, Paidyn Linville, Savanna Marriott and Paige Hanson end their careers with 85 wins over the past four seasons. See additional photos on Page 13 of this week’s NNL.
