The Wilcox United Methodist Church will hold their annual Lord’s Acre Day on Saturday, October 6 at the church on Highway 71 north of Maryville. The auction will begin at 10:30 am followed by the dinner at 11:30 am. Produce, crafts, baked goods and hand-embroidered quilts will be for sale. Dinner is $10 for adults,
The St. Joseph’s Catholic Church will hold a free will donation BBQ from 5:30 to 8 pm, Saturday, October 6 in the church basement at 415 South Main Street, Parnell. The meal features pulled pork, hotdogs, cheesy potatoes, baked beans, salads and desserts. Mass will be celebrated at 4:30 pm.
The Nodaway County Historical Society Museum will have their annual Fall Fest fundraiser luncheon at the museum, 110 N. Walnut, Maryville. The event is set for 11 am to 1 pm, Saturday, October 6. The menu includes harvest bean soup, Texas chili, cornbread, pickles, relishes and apple cake for dessert. Tickets are $10 per person

Donald Dean Kirk, 76, Maryville, formerly of Skidmore, died Thursday, September 27, 2018, at Nodaway Nursing Home, Maryville. Services will be at 11 am Friday, October 5 at Halls Cemetery, Stanberry.
