MMS students hold lemonade, bake sales

Maryville Middle School fifth and sixth graders will have lemonade stands and bake sales throughout Maryville on Saturday, May 5 during the city wide garage sales. The service project funds will be donate to UNICEF to provide clean water for Syrian refugees.

WN FFA sponsors breakfast

The West Nodaway FFA will hold a breakfast from 8 am to noon, Sunday, May 6 at the Burlington Jct. American Legion. The free will donation breakfast will feature pancakes, biscuits and gravy, potatoes, bacon and scrambled eggs.

3rd time is charm for egg bone hunt

The New Nodaway Humane Society Animal Shelter Egg Bone Hunt for dogs will be Sunday, May 6 at Sunrise Park, 817 South Alvin Street, Maryville. Registration begins at 1:30 pm, egg hunt starts at 2 pm. Entry fee is $5 or four cans of dog food. Nodaway Veterinary Clinic will be available to answer questions.

MHS Baccalaureate is at First Baptist

Maryville High School Baccalaureate will be at 4 pm, Sunday, May 6 at the First Baptist Church, 121 East Jenkins, Maryville. The speakers are Emily Scott, Pastor Jonathan Mitchell and Pastor Paul McKim. Topics are “Be Strong,” “Be Courageous” and “Be Not Afraid” based on Joshua 1:2,9.
