Gifts, books available at hospital
The St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary will host a Collective Goods sale of gifts and books from 10 am to 5 pm, Wednesday, April 18 and 7 am to 1 pm, Thursday, April 19 in the SSM Health – St. Francis Hospital lobby.

MHS speech presents readers’ theater

Retirement reception to be held for Primm
A retirement reception will be held for Linda Primm, Title I reading teacher, from 1 to 3 pm, Sunday, April 15 in the Northeast Nodaway Commons. She has taught for 33 years at NEN.
Fish fry set for Pickering
A fish fry will be held from 11 am to 1 pm, Sunday, April 15 at the Pickering Community Building. The meal will include white pollack fillets, baked potatoes, cole slaw, green beans, bread and butter, homemade pie, lemonade, coffee and tea. Cost is $9 for adults, $3 for children ages five to 10 and
Fish fry is in Elmo
The Elmo Fish Fry is from 5 to 7 pm, Saturday, April 14 at the Elmo Community Building. Besides fish there will be fried chicken, potatoes, salads and drink. Cost is $9, children 12 and under are $5. Gift certificates are available. Proceeds go towards community service projects and is sponsored by the Elmo Community
DAR announces meeting
The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) will hold the business meeting at 1 pm, Saturday, April 14 at the First United Methodist Church, 102 North Main Street, Maryville. The awards and honors ceremony will follow at 2 pm.
Pinwheels promote kindness at St. Greg’s
To recognize April as Child Abuse Prevention Month, Children’s Division is placing 118 pinwheels at noon, Saturday, April 14 at St. Gregory’s School playground. The pinwheels represent the number of children in care and to raise awareness about child abuse. Everyone is welcome to attend.
