Tenaska’s Clear Creek wind project was the topic of a November 27 public hearing at the Administration Center hosted by the Nodaway County Commissioners. Approximately 20 property owners and several government leaders, including the West Nodaway School superintendent. Monte Ten Kley, Tenaska representative, invited Tarkio School Superintendent Karma Coleman to give her account on the impact the wind farms have made on her school as well as other entities in Atchison County. She noted the financial benefits to the school were extensive. Prior to opening the public hearing the commissioners authorized the two EEZ resolutions to offer tax incentives to the multi-million dollar operation.
