Cameron’s Veteran Assistance League held a golf tournament fundraiser August 4 at Mozingo Golf Course. Money raised provides enriching activities for veterans residing at the Cameron Veterans’ Home such as TV’s and sporting events tickets. State funding pays for food, clothing and facility staff, but does not provide money for life-enriching activities. The tournament raised about $5,000 last year. This year’s total has not yet been calculated. A meal was provided by the American Legion Post #100.
