Marriott collects for Children, Family Center

Sydney Marriott, West Nodaway fifth grader, is shown with some of the more than 150 items she collected for the Children and Family Center, Maryville. Sydney was inspired by a counseling class to start the week-long project to give back to the community. She also raised $104 for the center.

“Everyone talks about helping, but don’t do anything about it,” she said. “I called my project New Beginning to give people at the abuse shelter a chance to start a new beginning.”
