The Nodaway County Fair’s annual event, Bed Turning, will be highlighted this year by a 120-year old quilt. The 2 pm, Saturday, July 16 program will be held in the basement of the Administration Center. The quilt was made for Ben and Maggie Wilson in the late 1800s. Ben is a son of Andrew and Anna Wilson who immigrated from Ireland. The quilt was acquired two years ago by Randy Henry, Stanberry, after his mother, Sarah Ann Wilson Henry, formerly of Maitland, died. The crazy-patterned quilt was offered to Sarah by a non-family member who recognized the embroidered names Ben and Maggie Wilson on it as Sarah’s relatives. They were her great uncle and great aunt.
