Maryville native rewarded for helping others

Maryville native Ashley Hennegin won employee of the year for her work at Tri-County’s Mental Health Services, Kansas City. With over 100 employees, Tri-County assists more than 7,000 patients a year. Hennegin has worked for two years at Tri-County an is currently the intake and assessment manager. She also answers crisis calls from the community.

MPR board supports transient guest tax proposal

The Maryville Parks and Recreation board heard a proposal from Northwest Missouri State Athletic Director Mel Tjeerdsma and Maryville City Manager Greg McDanel during its regular meeting on August 4. After bowling and golfing for 41 years, Lou Fuller decided not to play on her bowling league team this year and will not play in the golf league next summer. Fuller began bowling when she was 55 years old, in 1961, at the Nodaway Lanes bowling alley. Her teams often competed in state tournaments. Fuller

St. Gregory’s hosts second school nutrition program training

St. Gregory’s hosted its second annual school nutrition program employee training at the school. Under current state regulations, all food service personnel must have six hours of continuing education every year. Thirty-four people from 12 schools attended the seminar.
