After bowling and golfing for 41 years, Lou Fuller decided not to play on her bowling league team this year and will not play in the golf league next summer.

Fuller began bowling when she was 55 years old, in 1961, at the Nodaway Lanes bowling alley. Her teams often competed in state tournaments. Fuller is loved amongst the bowling community. Her last day with friends at the bowling alley was emotional for everyone.

“I loved the friends I made. I did it for the fellowship,” said Fuller.

In 1985, she began golfing. She hit a hole-in-one at Mozingo in 1998 at the age of 78.

“She enjoyed being active, whether it was golfing, bowling or working in her garden,” her daughter, Beverly Thompson, said.
