NNHS hosts fall supper
The New Nodaway Humane Society will host the annual Fall Supper from 5 to 7 pm, Thursday, November 2 at the First United Methodist Church, 102 North Main Street, Maryville. This is a fundraiser for the animal shelter.

The Nodaway County Republican Women will hold a meeting at 11:30 am, Thursday, November 2 at Pizza Ranch, Maryville.
The Maryville Public Library, 509 North Main Street, Maryville, will hold the following activities: • Baby/Toddler Time, 9:45 to 10:15 am, Thursday, November 2. For infants to age three, must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. • Birth to six Story Hour, for infants to age six, 5:30 to 6:30 pm, Thursday, November 2.
Hopkins Community Betterment will hold it’s monthly meet at 6:30 pm, Wednesday, November 1, at the Hopkins Baptist Church basement. All interested individuals are invited to attend.
The 22nd annual Downtown Trick or Treat will be from 5 to 7 pm, Monday, October 30. Costumed children will receive candy and other treats from 75 participating businesses, organizations, churches and individuals. The Trick or Treat will extend north from Jenkins Street to Sixth Street and west from Market Street to Fillmore Street.
The Bluebird Halloween party will be from 5 to 10 pm, Saturday, October 28 at the Bluebird Crossing, Quitman.
An “All-you-can-eat” fish and chicken dinner with all the fixings, will be held from 5 to 7 pm, Saturday, October 28 at the American Legion Post 100, 1104 East Fifth Street, Maryville. Adults are $10, children 11 and under are $5. All proceeds go to support the AL veterans programs.
The Skidmore United Methodist Church will hold its annual Fall Supper, from 5 to 7 pm, Saturday, October 28. The free will donation meal will feature fried chicken, ham, potatoes, green beans, salads, desserts, hot rolls and drinks. The public is welcome. This is the UMC’s only fundraiser for the year.
Wear Blue: run to remember, Maryville meet-up will be at 9 am, Saturday, October 28, at the Raymond J. Courter College Park Pavilion at Northwest Missouri State University. Marjorie Ann Carr Carroll Henderson, 73, Maryville, died Thursday, October 19, 2017, at Mosaic Life Care, St. Joseph. Funeral services were Monday, October 23 at Laura Street Baptist Church.
