The Maryville City Council approved minutes of meetings dating back to August 12 mostly dealing with budget work, strategic planning and executive sessions during the October 14 regular meeting.

The short agenda had two contracts approved for the coming year: Nodaway County Economic Development, $65,500, which will address retail development and Northwest Missouri Regional Council of Governments, $6,704.31 that is based on the population, which will be working with the South Main Development project as well as other concerns.

The council approved an ordinance to change the benefit program for employees to the Missouri Local Government Employees Retirement System (LAGERS) which will provide a city budgeted increase from prior years with the total equaling $132,512.

Two topics were addressed by the council in a closed session: litigation and real estate dealings.
