Northeast Nodaway R-V Board of Education met September 15 to approve a land survey and conduct the following business: • Kaw Valley Engineering, Kansas City, recommended a land survey be completed for the new track facility before soil samples are taken. Local teachers nominated for Regional Teacher of the Year

Three Nodaway County educators were nominated for the 2016-2017 Regional Teacher of the Year award. Jamie James teaches 9-12 algebra and geometry at Maryville High School. Nodaway-Holt installs new security system

Visitors to Nodaway-Holt’s school district will have to be buzzed inside this year. The district installed a video entry system in August. The security program, installed in both school buildings, keeps the outside doors locked at all times. Visitors push a button alerting the secretary to their presence. Maryville R-II school board met August 17 to conduct the following business: •The district’s assessed evaluation dropped 1.4 percent.
