Once again, the Bearcat football team is ranked #1 and looking forward to their Arrowhead showdown with Central Missouri.

There is a similar pattern regarding state emphasis. The Midwest tends to dominate. The index of emphasis for each state is derived by dividing the number of Division II teams a state has by its population. South Dakota has five teams but only one-seventh the population of Missouri with 10 teams. There are 14 states without any Division II football teams.
