Church gives away bread, sweets
The Pickering Christian Church is conducting an outreach mission. Free bread and sweets may be picked up from 4:30 to 6:30 pm, Monday, September 17 at the east basement door.
Mobile Food Pantry to be in Sheridan
Fresh Mobile Food Pantry, sponsored by Second Harvest, is from 10 am to noon, Monday, September 17 at the Christian Church, 309 West Jefferson Street, Sheridan. It is open to the general public, while supplies last.
Skidmore schedules fall cleanup
Trash receptacles will be at the north end of Skidmore by the horse arena from Monday, September 17 to Monday, September 24 for fall cleanup.
Parnell UMC serves fish, chicken
The Parnell United Methodist Church fish and chicken fry will be from 11 am to 1:30 pm, Sunday, September 16 in the handicapped accessible church basement. The free will offering lunch will feature white pollock fish, deep-fried chicken, baked potatoes, cole slaw, baked beans, corn, green beans, hot roll, desserts and drink.
SCB fund raises with chicken dinner
The Skidmore Community Betterment will hold a Chicken Dinner from 11 am to 1 pm, Sunday, September 16 at Newton Hall, Skidmore. A free will donation will be accepted with funds going towards community betterment projects.

Businesses, churches, organizations and others can sign up, now through Thursday, September 20 to hand out candy or other treats at the 23rd Annual Downtown Trick or Treat in Maryville. BJ AL supper features tenderloins
The Burlington Jct. American Legion Post will hold a supper from 5-7 pm, Friday, September 14 at the American Legion Building in Burlington Jct. The supper will feature breaded tenderloin sandwiches, potato wedges, salad, drink and dessert. Cost is $8 for adults, children 10 and under are free.
