Honan receives highest FFA degree

West Nodaway ag teacher Nicki Honan was awarded the highest FFA degree this fall. Honan received her Honorary American FFA Degree at the National FFA Convention on October 21 in Indianapolis, IN. Bluejays weave baskets

Northeast Nodaway seniors Amanda Standiford and Alicia Smith weave reed baskets during Katie Jenkins’s advanced art class.  The reed baskets are round stemming from their historical use as egg gathering containers. Jenkin’s class will explore other art techniques such as fabric dying and cross stitch.

Mustangs clean school

North Nodaway students recently organized and cleaned their school in a building-wide project. Two sixth grade students, Kelsey Barcus and Danielle Riedel, were instrumental in creating and organizing the school cleanup project. Jefferson students program robots

Students at Jefferson school have been learning computer programing including coding this year. Charlea Lewis, computer instructor, teaches students with hands-on computer coding lessons. In past years, during the National Computer Science and Hour of Code week in December, she let students experiment with coding lessons on code.org, a website with activities geared toward students.

Pillowcase buddies prepare students for disasters

Members of the St. Joseph American Red Cross of Northwest Missouri presented the Pillowcase Buddy program to Nodaway-Holt students in this fall. The program is tailored to students in grades 3-6.
