Guilford Fun Days capitalizes on ‘Fun’

The Guilford Fun Days’ grand marshal was Verlene Anderson, Guilford. She started her teaching career at the one-room schoolhouse at Pumpkin Center for eight years. She spent 27 years at the South Nodaway School District, three as principal.

She and her late husband, Charles, have a farm southeast of Guilford. She still mows her yard and checks on her son’s cattle. She will be 92.
