The Clearmont City Council approved a new water/sewer application for residents during its regular December 21 meeting. The new applications took effect January 1.

Mayor Byron Clark also reviewed plans for using the American Rescue Plan Act monies for upgrades to the city’s water system. The bid for new water meters was presented from Core and Main. The council approved the bid as well as to order any additional parts such as meter loops and to purchase new fire hydrants if there are additional funds still available.

In other business, the council approved the November minutes and the monthly bills to be paid.

Correspondence was received from the Missouri State Auditor requesting the annual audit for 2021 and from Citizens State Bank regarding the automatic renewal notice for the city’s Certificate of Deposit.

The council reviewed the financial report.

The water/sewer report included 230,100 gallons were used with no new shutoffs.

The street maintenance report included the Circle C signs order for two Stop signs and two No Parking on this Side signs are ready to be picked up. Breakaway posts were also ordered and the signs will be installed after the area has been flagged for underground utilities.

The next regular meeting will be held at 7 pm, Tuesday, January 18 at the Clearmont Fire Station.
