At their regular monthly meeting on November 20, the Clearmont City Council listened to reports from the water-sewer department, street ditching report and tabled the drought-based water ordinance.

Correspondence was shared by City Clerk Linda Babcock including: a sewer infiltration report which is due and a public water ballot issue appeal letter. She also noted it was time for filing of the election of council members.

The water-sewer report noted the company which cleaned the water tower had provided a report. Tom Stiehmann, company representative, will come to the council meeting in January to speak to a possible maintenance plan. Kristi Snodderley, city employee, reported there are 10 water customers scheduled for shutoff. The council clarified the correct water meter turn on and turn offs charge is set at $25.

Mayor Byron Clark spoke about the sewer electrical panel needing repair. Bids will be requested from several companies.

The street maintenance was addressed with several streets needing repair. More discussion centered around the Sycamore Street ditching report.

The water ordinance concerning the drought was tabled.

After talking about a citizen’s request to close an alley, the council chose not to close it due to it allowing an access for People’s Service staff.

The council decided to request bids to asphalt-overlay the streets as soon as the weather allows.

The council went into closed session with the topic of personnel.
