An all-you-can-eat fish and chicken fry will be from 5 to 7 pm, Saturday, September 10 at the American Legion Post 100, 1104 East Fifth Street, Maryville. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 11 and under. All proceeds support veteran programs.
The Pickering Lions Club will hold a Motorcycle Poker Run and Steak Fry with check-in at noon, Saturday, September 10. The ride starts at 1 pm from the Pickering Community Building. The meal, which includes steak, potato and salad, and first hand is $20; an extra hand is $5.
The Parnell American Legion Post 528 will hold a fundraiser breakfast from 8 am to noon on Sunday, September 4 at the Legion Hall. Free will donation.
The local Masons will meet at 7:30 pm, Monday, September 5 at the Masonic Lodge on North Main, Maryville.
Hopkins Community Betterment will meet at 6:30 pm, Wednesday, September 7 at the Christian Church meeting room, Hopkins. The church is handicapped accessible on the east side. All interested individuals are invited to attend.
The Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 10 am, Saturday, September 10 at the First United Methodist Church, 102 North Main Street, Maryville. A group photo will be taken first.
Beginning September 10, and continuing at 7 pm each Saturday throughout the fall, First United Methodist Church, Maryville, is offering a worship service in its new gathering space. The space was designed to facilitate interactive worship experiences for people who can’t attend church on Sundays, it is led by Paul Derks, a junior at Northwest.
Businesses, churches, organizations and others can sign up, now through September 20, to hand out candy or other treats at the 21st Annual Downtown Trick or Treat in Maryville. The event is from 5 to 7 pm, Thursday, October 27. The cost is $5 and may be dropped by the Nodaway News Leader, 116 East
