The library will be open from 10 to 11 am, Saturdays, July 13 and 27 in Newton Hall, Skidmore.
Pickering Lions hold motorcycle, steak fry
The Pickering Lions Club is sponsoring a motorcycle poker run and steak fry with check-in beginning at noon and the run starting at 1 pm from the Pickering Community Building. First hand and dinner is $35 per person; extra hands are $5 each.
Fish Fry set for Elmo
The Elmo Fish Fry is from 5 to 7 pm, Saturday, July 13 at the Elmo Community Building. Besides fish, there will be fried chicken, potatoes, salads and drink. Cost is $9; children 12 and under are $5. Proceeds go toward community service projects and is sponsored by the Elmo Community Betterment.

The Masonic Lodge Nodaway 470 will have its regular meeting at 7:30 pm, Monday, July 15 at the lodge in Maryville.
NNHS runs adoption special
The New Nodaway Humane Society is running a special for adoptions from 1 to 5 pm, Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 6 at the animal shelter, 829 South Depot, Maryville. The fee will be $17.76 for adult dogs and cats, six months or older. This special excludes high profile pets.
Parnell AL to hold breakfast
The Parnell American Legion Post 528 will hold a fundraiser pancake breakfast from 8 am to noon, Sunday, July 7 at the Legion Hall. Freewill donation.
Fair Quilt available for viewing at Senior Center
