The Skidmore United Methodist Church welcomes the public to its annual fall supper from 5 to 7 pm, Saturday, October 19. The menu for the freewill donation supper includes fried chicken, ham, potatoes, green beans, salads, desserts, hot rolls and drinks.

The fifth annual Vet2Vet will be held from 10 am to 2 pm, Saturday, October 19 at 100 North Fourth Street, St. Joseph. The event is for all veterans and their families. There will be information on housing, employment, counseling, VA benefits, healthcare, education, eldercare and more.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nodaway County is ready to host its eighth annual Adopt-A-Family Holiday Gift Drive. Each year businesses and individuals around the county donate to this event, with gifts going to the families of the matched children. Last year, this drive resulted in 14 donors providing Christmas gifts for 23 families.

The Burlington Jct. American Legion Auxiliary will hold a spaghetti supper from 5 to 7 pm, Friday, October 11 at the American Legion Building in Burlington Jct. The supper will feature spaghetti, lettuce salad, garlic bread, drink and dessert. Cost is $8 for adults; children 10 and under are free.
