The Northwest Missouri State Football team returns home to face off against No. 25 ranked Fort Hays State at 6 pm on September 14.

The Bearcats fell to Nebraska Kearney 14-21 on September 7, falling to 0-2 on the season, the first time since the 1994 winless season. Northwest hasn’t lost three consecutive games since the 2001 season.

Northwest owns a 22-15-1 lead in the all-time series with Fort Hays State, and they have won three of the last four meetings, despite losing last season in Hays, KS.

Despite the two losses, Junior quarterback Chris Ruhnke has begun to come into his own as the starter, throwing for 579 yards and five touchdowns so far this season. He ranks first in the MIAA in passing yards, and fifth in the entire Division II.
