Lions to hold ice cream social
The Pickering Lions Club is holding an ice cream social from 4 to 6 pm, Saturday, August 23 at the Pickering Community Building. It is a freewill donation and there will be ice cream, pies, cookies and cake. Proceeds will go to the Lions Scholarship project.
Reminder: Buchanan County I-229 Double Decker bridge to close beginning Aug. 25
The Buchanan County Interstate 229 Double Decker bridge in St. Joseph is scheduled to close beginning Monday, Aug. 25. Crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation will complete annual maintenance of the bridge, signage, and lighting. Traffic Impacts: The I-229 bridge, including all ramps, will be closed north and southbound around the clock Aug. 25-28
Museum holds BBQ fundraiser

Pickering discusses sewer plant upgrade
