VBS continues in July, August
More Vacation Bible Schools are being offered in July and August to children in Nodaway County. Following are upcoming VBS offerings: • July 15-18 – St. Joseph Catholic Church, Parnell, 6 to 7:30 pm for ages kindergarten to sixth grade. • July 17-19 – Burlington Jct. and Wilcox United Methodist Church VBS is from 5:45
Republican Women to meet
Nodaway County Federated Republican Women will meet at 11:30 am, Thursday, July 11 at A & G Restaurant, Maryville. The speakers are: Adam James who is running for sheriff; Jeff Hall, coroner; and Jason Weir, south district commissioner.

Habitat for Humanity of Nodaway County will partner with Jill Calfee to build its next home this year in Maryville. NOCOMO board gets financial report
The NOCOMO Industries, Inc. Board met, June 25, in open and closed sessions. In open session, Workshop Director Jason Auffert reported the workshop had received a SB40 May disbursement of $398.86. DESE reimbursement funds for May were $10,627.77. The May payroll for certified and non-certified employees was $24,215.82.
2024 Parnell Duck Race, Festival set
The Parnell Duck Race and Festival is scheduling a weekend of fun for the annual event on Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14. Food Pantry announces hours in Hopkins
The Hopkins Christian Church and Hopkins Community Club have formed a partnership with the Second Harvest Community Food Bank to open a food pantry from 3 to 5:30 pm, Tuesday, July 9 at 102 South Fifth Street, Hopkins. Health Board changes meeting date
The Nodaway County Health Center Board of Trustees at the June 20 meeting changed the meeting time and date for the rest of the calendar year. It will now meet at 10 am, the third Tuesday of the month. The next meeting will be 10 am, Tuesday, July 16. The health center is no longer
