The Nodaway County Republican Lincoln Day Dinner was held March 18, at the American Legion Hall in Burlington Jet. A large crowd attended including many of our local elected officials. The Northeast Nodaway Elementary students reached their goals in the Kids Heart Challenge by raising over $2,700 to give to the American Heart Association. Alma Nash was born in 1883 to Dr. and Mrs. George Nash, Maryville. On March 24, her life was dedicated with a memorial plaque placed in the pocket park in Maryville’s downtown. The event was hosted by the Downtown Maryville group and the Nodaway County Historical Society. Nash was a musician who played in orchestras
The American Legion Post #528 will hold a freewill donation breakfast from 8 am to noon, Sunday, April 2 at the AL Post in Parnell. The menu includes pancakes, biscuits and gravy, eggs made to order, bacon, sausage, coffee and orange juice.
