Jefferson NHS packages books, bears for local hospital

Jefferson National Honor Society members, Maggie Collins, Kali Redden, Andrea Riley, Ethan Holtman, Jenna Mason, Aubrey Mattson and Matt Jermain packaged the books and bears collected by the Jefferson students. The packages include teddy bear notes wishing the recipient well and greetings from Jefferson National Honor Society and The Jefferson Elementary School.

Minnie Lane raises over a grand for local firefighters

Jeremiah Bragg, Nodaway County Firefighters Association president, accepted $1,138.75 from Melody Blair, owner of Minnie Lane, Maryville recently. She raised funds throughout the holiday season to support the non-profit. There are 13 fire districts in Nodaway County with over 200 firefighters who volunteer.

Lions Club has fish, chicken fry
